One Year Anniversary!

I can't believe we have already been married for over a year now! Time really does fly by, but It has been an awesome year together! I can look back to the day we were married until now and see how much we have grown as individuals and more importantly as a couple.

This post is a little outdated because it's been over a month since our actual 1 year anniversary day (June 10th), but should still make for an enjoyable read.

We knew for our one year anniversary we had to do something really special. This year our anniversary fell on a Sunday so we had decided to celebrate on Friday and Saturday. I had thrown out some ideas but Lance insisted that I not worry about a thing because he would take care of it all. I didn't argue with that because I'm the kind of person that loves surprises. :)

The weekend of our anniversary finally came. We both had to work on Friday so I assumed we would start the celebration Friday night, but boy was I wrong.

(A little side note; during our anniversary weekend we took a lot of video and pictures. Lance is working on putting all the videos together, so for now I'll just post the pictures).

It was early Friday morning and I was planning on getting up at 5:30am to get ready for work. Lance had told me the night before that he needed to go into work at 5am to move some trailer that could only be moved at that time.

He gave me a kiss goodbye and I went back to bed to finish my last 30 minutes of sleep. Then right before my alarm went off the bedroom lights were flipped on and I awoke to my sweet husband with flowers in one hand and a box of cinnamon rolls in the other.

Apparently his work story about moving the trailer wasn't true he just made that up so he could go get me fresh flowers and cinnamon rolls. The best part was he had asked my boss a few weeks before if I could have that Friday off so we could spend the day together! I was completely surprised!

The beautiful flowers I got

After breakfast Lance told me another part of his surprise was that we'd be going to 7 peaks for the day. Our apartment is in the "Noise Pollution Area" of 7 Peaks so because of that we get free passes to 7 Peaks.

After hours of waiting in line to activate our free passes we finally made it into the park.

It was so crowded!

After our fun-filled day at 7 Peaks Lance told me he had another surprise for me, and that I needed to pack some stuff up to stay the night somewhere.

The surprise was to stay at this cute little bed and breakfast place up in Salt Lake. I've always thought it would be fun to spend the night at a cute bed and breakfast with my husband, and Lance did an awesome job on fulfilling that dream.

The house we stayed in was an older house built in 1890 and was right next to where Brigham Young's old farmhouse once was.

Right when you walked in you'd have the living room to one side and the dinning room to the other.

The pictures kind of dark but this was the original family who lived in the house.
Cute little sunroom

The room we got was the attic. I thought it was so cute and quite spacious.

I loved how old this house was and that it still kept that look and feel to it like it did back in 1890. When I think of a bed and breakfast this type of house is exactly what I envision.

After we got settled in we were hungry and headed out to eat. We had accumulated some gift cards and decided to use our Chili's one that night.

We stuffed ourselves pretty good and new the best cure for that was to rent a movie and snacks and head back to our hotel.

The next morning the breakfast was brought in a cute basket right to our door.

Right next to the bed and breakfast was this really cool looking LDS church building. We both had never seen one like this before, to me it looked like some capital building. We decided to take our own little tour inside.

This was probably the coolest LDS church building I've ever been inside.

For the days events we decided to check out the new City Creek Mall that just opened in Salt Lake.

Not a type of chandelier I'd want in my house

It was fun checking out the City Creek Center but I wouldn't say I have to go back any time soon.

We then decided to head over to the Salt Lake Temple, where we were sealed for time and all eternity. I loved going back to the temple a year after we were married and being able to reflect back on the day we were married and how wonderful that day was for us. It was so fun to see all the newly married couples walking out of the temple and taking pictures and seeing how happy they all were.

One year down and still madly in love! :)

I'm so grateful that I get to spend eternity with this wonderful guy!
Since we were at the temple we decided to go check out the tour they give at Brigham Young's house. It was really cool to walk around the house and hear a lot about Brigham Young that I didn't know.

This house was huge! I seriously could've gotten lost in it.

After the tour we decided to use another one of our gift cards, this time to Olive Garden.

The next day was our actual anniversary day (June 10th), but again it fell on a Sunday this year so that's why we did all our celebrating on Friday and Saturday.

We ended up going over to Lance's brother Ross's house for dinner to celebrate his brother's birthday and our anniversary.

Celebrating with some wine glasses and soda.

When we got home that night I gave Lance his gifts, which he majorly needed.

A razor, white socks, and black church socks
We finished off our anniversary weekend with eating some of our frozen wedding cake. It was not good but worth taking a bite for a memorable picture.

One last thing I thought I'd post that happened during our anniversary weekend...... I'll let the video do all the posting. Enjoy! :)
