Playing in the snow

I've never really been one to love the snow (probably due to the fact that I grew up in sunny Arizona), but now that I have a kid I'm actually a little excited for the snow.

Though I'm excited for Nixon to play in the snow I'm not to excited for the process of dressing and undressing of the winter gear. But he sure looks cute in his winter gear!

What is this cheerio doing on my glove...

Oh well I'll eat it anyway.
My little snow bunny ready to give this whole snow thing a try.

He wasn't sure about the whole laying down in the sled thing.

Getting a pep talk from dad
Cousin Ben following behind with his wagon

Sitting on a Thomas Train being pulled by his cousin Ben was a lot more fun.

Is this not the cutest picture!
Don't they look like they are having a good time.

Good thing Lance was there to catch him!

Checking out the snow on his glove

Having a good time
He loved riding in this car the most

Fun sled made by dad

This was a different snow day and he didn't like the snow this day but he still looks as cute as a button.
The snow has been a little sparse so far this year (which I'm not really complaining to much about) but when the next snow fall comes this cute little snow bunny is going sledding for real. :)

Vegas Trip

With the work Lance does he gets to travel to these trade shows, and one place he gets to go to a lot is Las Vegas. There is one trade show in Las Vegas during the month of December where his work reserves a penthouse suite at the Mirage hotel! They do this because they host rep groups in the suite to show them their new line of product for the coming year.

Last year was the first year Lance went to this specific show and I was going to go with him but we decided financially we shouldn't. So when this years opportunity came we set aside some money for me to tag along! (Lance gets everything paid for while he's there)  :)

The only thing we were left to decide was whether to take this adorable guy.

In the end we decided though we would love having our little guy with us and would miss him terribly, we should leave him with my wonderful sister-in-law Megan for four and a half days! What a saint Megan is I tell ya.

Our flight left early Sunday morning. It had snowed a lot the night before and a little while we were driving to the airport. We saw a couple cars slide of the freeway on our way to the airport, scary! I was happy to be getting out of the snowy weather!

We flew Delta and these were the cool head rest computer monitors that you could play games on during the flight!

Lance is enjoying his golf game, I just took the picture when he was really focused. :)
Another cool part about this trip is that part of the package includes a limo ride from the airport to the hotel!
The limo!

Nice and roomy

We had decided that we wanted to get a rental car as opposed to using taxi's to get around. The car rental place was actually at the airport but I wanted to ride in the limo, so we rode in the limo to the hotel and then took a taxi back to the airport to pick up our rental car. :)

This is the beauty we got hooked up with, A nice compact neon green car.
After picking up our sweet ride we headed to the outlet stores. Lance was itching for a new pair of Michael Jordan basketball shoes.

Lance was in heaven

Once we were all shopped out it was time to check out the penthouse.
My jaw dropped when we walked in the room, this suite was huge! The room kept going and going.

The living room area

The complimentary fruit, water and banana bread we received

The fancy thing about this room is the tv coming up from the middle of the table at the end of the bed.

I loved how big this bathroom was!
Plus having a tv in there while getting ready helps. :)
Every time Lance comes to Vegas he always talks about the Caesar's Palace buffet, so of course I had to check it out.
The line was pretty long just to get into the buffet. We probably waited in line at least 30 minutes or so.
I was drawn to the bright lights and didn't notice we were taking a picture.

Just a couple plates of food. Their big thing here is their crab legs. Thats one of Lances favorite things to get there (if you couldn't tell by the 2 plates full of crab legs).

I tried the crab legs and found out that I am not a big fan of them.
I was more excited that they had Sushi! :)
Walking around the Caesars Palace. This place is huge!
That next day we had to get to work. Part of my job was to go down to the lobby and bring the reps back up to the suite (we had to do this because you had to have a room key in order to take the elevator up to our floor).
I also helped set out the snacks

Getting the dresses all ready
Lance never thought he'd be selling little girls princess dresses. :)

Even though we were having a great time, we missed this stud muffin greatly! But we knew he was in good hands. This was the first time we were away from him for more than a night! Megan was very good about sending us pictures and videos to help us survive being without him.

For my birthday Lance and his mom got us tickets to go see a show while we were there. I am a big fan of Cirque du Soleil shows so I was very excited to see one! We ended up seeing the show Mystere and we both enjoyed it greatly!

After the show my craving for ice cream set in. Lucky for me there was a cold stone right next to the theater.

Since we aren't avid gamblers the next best thing is to eat at all the delicious buffets Vegas has to offer. We decided to go to the Wynn buffet one night.

This is the awesome ginger bread replica of the Wynn hotel! It was very impressive.

The weather was quite chilly so we didn't do a whole lot of walking around at night. The night we went to eat at the Wynn buffet we decided to walk there and were able to get some good sight seeing in.

I'm so glad I got to come along to this trade show with Lance and have some alone time with him, because who knows when we'll get to have another fun trip with just the two of us. :)

One last thing- when we got home to pick up Nixon, Lance and I were so excited to see him we were debating over who got to hold him first. :) As we got to Megan's house we walked in the front door expecting Nixon's face to light up with excitement to see us and would come crawling into our arms. Well that wasn't the response we got. Nixon did look at us but his face didn't have excitement on it, but more like confusion. When I picked him up and gave him a hug he actually reached out for Megan to hold him! ouch! How could my own son not know who I am? (though I can't blame him for wanting Megan, she is amazing!). After a little time Nixon's memory came back to him that we were actually his loving parents and Lance and I got the smiles and hugs we had been dreaming of.
