Nixon's 1st Christmas

I was pretty excited for Christmas this year, not for any gift I might be getting but because it was Nixon's 1st Christmas! He's still to young to understand the excitement of Christmas but I was plenty excited for him.

A must do on my list was to have Nixon sit on Santa's lap. I was told getting a picture taken with Santa at the mall isn't cheap, so I was counting on the good ole ward party for that picture moment. We weren't able to go to our ward party so we tagged along with Lance's brother and family to their ward party where I was promised a Santa would be there. :)

Gearing up to sit on Santa's lap

Waiting in line to see Santa
Here we go...
A little unsure about this guy
Checking to make sure mom's still there
We didn't get any smiles but we also didn't have any tears, so I call it a win.
Happy to get a candy cane
I would call meeting Santa a success

A few days before Christmas Lance's Sister and family came down from Idaho for a little Pre-Christmas celebration.

Nixon loved playing with his cousin Madeline

Grandma snuggles
My adorable nephew Ben made me this very cool water jug, straw and everything!
(I think his mom helped a little)

Acting out the Nativity story
(don't mind the adults in the mirror)

Mary and baby Jesus
The adorable little lame
Nixon wasn't quite old enough to make candy trains with everyone else
Intense mind games were played
Cutest baby in glasses!

Eating a lime. I thought he would make a face from eating the lime but he actually
enjoyed it.

For Christmas this year it was decided we would do Christmas morning at my brother and sister-in-laws house. We decided to spend the night at their house so we could wake right up and be apart of the Christmas excitement.
First picture on Christmas morning. He's very excited!
(Sorry the picture is dark and grainy)

Let's start opening some presents

Opening his Christmas stocking
His favorite gift in his stocking was this light up ball
Don't mind the major bed head, you think someone would've told me to run a comb
through my hair or something. :)

Before we opened presents we watched the story of Christ and the true meaning of Christmas.
Nixon loves that story and was front and center to watch.

He likes to give his toys a good chew before he plays with them.

Ben showing Nixon the ropes of this cool toy
Love these people!
Lance made a special Christmas present for Nixon, It's the Nixon watch brand logo! Yes we got Nixon's name from a watch brand. :)

Our new Bosch Mixer!! My amazing mother-in-law got us this!
He found his present opening spot
He initially wasn't a fan of Grandma Kathy's lion bath towel, but he loves it now.

My Christmas gifts from Lance. He got me pepper spray and the picture is of a quilt rack he planned on building for me.
Why pepper spray you ask? Well I clean Lance's work building and I usually do it at night by myself, so Lance wanted to make sure I had something to keep me safe. Such a sweetheart. :)
This is the finished quilt rack Lance made for me. It turned out so good!

My gifts to Lance. He will be going on a lot of business trips this year and needed a
 good airplane pillow.
Taking in the last moments of Christmas by the tree

We had a great Christmas! We are so blessed to be close to family to spend it with.
I already can't wait for next year!

Here is a little video compilation of some videos recorded Christmas morning.
