Softball

This summer Lance was asked to play on a softball team with his brother and some of his friends. He was hesitant at first because he hasn't played since maybe his t-ball years, but he actually really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun.

The team

Lance turned a regular white church shirt into this cool softball shirt...

actually his mom made the shirt, Lance just provided the shirt and the idea

I tried to go to as many games as I could but a lot of them were later at night and that didn't work so well for Nixon

The team actually made it to the final tournament, but sadly lost their games.

He loves the sweets, just like his mom

It's a good thing the opportunity to play softball came because Lance might've gone insane if all he had to look forward to this summer was work and school.

Birthday celebration

Lance's sister Sarah had a birthday while her family was visiting from China. We of course had to celebrate!

It's pretty much a common thing to build these amazing cakes out of fondant for people's birthday's in Lance's family. I'll have to hire one of my sister-in-laws to make all of my kids cakes because I have no creative ability to do them myself.

This is the cake my sister-in-law Megan made for Sarah. Megan made this cake to represent everything Sarah. The cake is round and is decorated as the world. One of the green island's represent the U.S and the little blue and pink things are the 4 kids she had here. The other green Island is China, where they currently live, and a little baby boy she had while in China. There is an airplane because they have to take a few airplane flights just to get to and from China, and a gray structure that represents the Hong Kong temple. Very impressive cake right?!

It was a perfect windy day to fly a kit

Glad we got to celebrate your birthday with you Sarah!

A day in Park City

For fathers day this year my sister-in-law Megan and I got our husbands a pass to go golfing at this course up in Park City.

The location of the course was pretty cool, it was on the side of a mountain over looking a lake. Lance said it was a complicated course because there were a lot of hills. Luckily the course was only 9 holes instead of 18.

We decided while the boys golfed we would hit up the outlet stores. It was nice and cozy in the car with 3 car seats. Good thing these cousins all get along.

Nixon wasn't to happy he had to be in the stroller

Once the boys were done golfing we met up for some lunch at this little pizza joint.

Nixon cant wait till he can eat grown up food

All tuckered out after a fun filled day in Park City

Pioneer Day part 2

I was looking through my pictures and noticed I forgot to add pictures from what we did on Pioneer day. (The family festival we went to on the previous post was held on the saturday before Pioneer day)

We decided to spend the day how summers were meant to be spent, swimming and having a BBQ.

Nixon needed a pre-swimming nap before he could join in on the fun

Love holding a sleeping baby

swimming with the cousins
Lance's brother had bought a BBQ the night before and he asked Lance if he would start putting the BBQ together until he got home from work to help him. Sadly the BBQ was a little more complicated then Lance anticipated and he couldn't join us swimming.

I realize this is a 4th of July outfit Nixon is in but it looks so cute on him and I felt it was still appropriate to wear for this holiday.

Mother son photo shoot. I have to take advantage of these photo shoots while he still lets me. :)

though by the look of these photo's you might think he wasn't having as much fun as mom was

Nixon's 3 year old cousin Ben has been showing Nixon how cool trains are. Also I think his Aunt Megan would love if Nixon developed a big love for trains so she can give all the train stuff they have to us when Ben no longer cares for them.   which might be a while :)

I'm loving these beautiful, warm summer days with family. Summer is going by way to fast!
