Jaxon's baby blessing

In November we blessed Jaxon and were excited to have my parents come up.

We were SO happy to have them! Nixon loves his grandpa Taylor. he loves to do everything with him, Even play on their tablets together. :)

(Nixon on his blessing day)
This blessing outfit I got for Nixon's blessing and we blessed him when he was close to 3 months old.

(Jaxon on his blessing day)
Jaxon was only 2 months when we blessed him so the blessing outfit was a little big on him but he still looks so handsome.
I love that it looks like he has shoulder pads. :)
Just like Nixon, Jaxon did not care for the hat that came with the outfit.
We are still in the works of saving for a house so my wonderful sister-in-law Sarah and her husband Gabe were so gracious to host the luncheon at their house after the blessing.
I keep saying it but I love these little boys so much! It's true that you never knew you could have so much love in your heart for someone until you have kids. These boys are my world and I am so grateful I get to be their mother.
(
Nixon wanted to get back to playing with his cars but he quickly gave a smile to the camera to make mom happy)

I love being the only girl in our little family.
Nixon always has to touch Jaxon (
luckily it's in a loving way)

Lance gave another wonderful blessing. I am so grateful and blessed to have a worthy priesthood holder as a husband and father to my boys. He is (and will continue to be) a wonderful example for them as they grow up.

My little mama's boy
We were so blessed to have so many family and friends come to the blessing and who are always there to support us.

My sweet mom and grandparents.
Jaxon loves his grandma Taylor and great grandma Taylor

Nixon didn't really know what was going on, he just enjoyed having all these kids to play with.

Lance's cousin Eric and beautiful wife Camille

Such amazing women right here!
It's hard for me not having my family here, especially my mom and sister, so I am so grateful that Lance has such amazing sisters, sister-in-law and cousins.

Jaxon and his adorably chunky cousin Jake.
These boys are going to be best buds.

We are so grateful to all those who came and supported us at Jaxon's blessing.
I'll say it over and over, I LOVE my cute little family!

October Festivities cont. - Halloween

I was excited for Halloween this year. Nixon was a year older and at that beginning age where he can kind of understand Halloween. I wasn't sure what to do for his costume until one day I was at the DI and I came across this Elmo costume and it was perfect! Nixon loves Elmo, plus he looks adorable in the costume. :)

Is he not the cutest!?
The cutest little Elmo you ever did see!
He was actually pretty good about keeping that head part on his head even though it would flop over his face from time to time. ha

I am one proud mama

I was very impressed at how well Nixon caught on to the whole trick or treating. Once he went to the first house and realized he got candy his eye's lit up and he wanted more. He kept saying "more tany, more tany"

I was going to have Jaxon be Elmo's fish friend Dorothy but I didn't get it put together in time so he was just a cute little pumpkin.

My parents came in to town over Halloween weekend because we were blessing Jaxon that coming Sunday.  It was a lot of fun having them here! Nixon is always in heaven when they come.

Nixon was excited to get this cool balloon monkey (or dog? I can't remember) but once he started getting candy the balloon animal was of no importance to him.

Leading the pack
Nixon LOVES dogs and though his desire for more sugar was strong, his love for dogs was stronger and he stopped to have a chat with this cute little dog.

I somehow forgot that Nixon would need a halloween bucket to put his candy in (we just used pillow cases when I was young) but my sister in law was sweet enough to let Nixon use this extra pink pumpkin bucket she had. :)
I took it upon myself to gather up Jaxon's trick or treat candy and enjoy eating it for him. :)

Nixon was pretty excited about all the yummy treats in his bucket. I thought he would keep trying to take them out and eat them but he didn't. He left the candy in there until we were all done.

Jaxon didn't care to take a cute Halloween picture for mom. It probably didn't help that his older brother kept wanting to give him a little head pat.

My handsome boys and a beautiful sunset

Nixon's little legs were getting a little tired at this point, but his desire for more "tany" was still going strong.

I love this picture because it shows how Lance would have to hold onto the eye of the Elmo costume to help guide Nixon along. :)
After all the walking and trick or treat saying Nixon finally got to reap the spoils of his labors,
He got a nice sugary sucker.

Though Nixon did well with keeping his costume on (
hood piece and all) he did NOT like the actual process of putting the costume on and taking it off. (as shown in the pictures provided)

Free at last!

I would say halloween for Nixon (and myself) was a success. I loved watching him go up to each house and see his face light up as each house provided him with more sugary sweets. I had to remind him to say trick or treat each time, he just walked up to the door arm already stretched out to grab the candy.

And though halloween was only for one night, many days after, Nixon would wake up in the morning saying "tany, tany".

Here is a little video compilation of Nixon's first official halloween trick or treating experience.
