Nixon's first hair cut

The day finally came for Nixon's first hair cut. (he was 14 months old) I will admit I waited as long as I could and was a little hesitant to do it because I loved the cute clumps of strawberry blonde hair he had.

But I guess when you can do his hair like this, it's time for a trim.
Lance attempted using a comb and scissors at first...
but when Nixon started moving and wiggling a lot we felt it safer to use the electric hair clipper.

I was a little unsure about using the clippers because I didn't want all the hair on my babies head to be gone. But Lance assured me he would still have hair and would look just as adorable.

that's quite a bit of hair gone

And here is the finished look

Still a handsome little guy! :)

I didn't take any pictures during the hair cut, but did video the whole thing.

Easter in Idaho

This year for Easter we got to celebrate it up in Idaho with Lance's sister Lindy and her fun little clan.

The week before Idaho we had a pre-easter meal and easter egg hunt over at my other sister-in-law Megan's house.

This was Nixon's first time easter egg hunting so he didn't quite understand the concept at first, but his cousins Ben and Clara were nice enough to show Nixon how it was done.

He was pleasantly surprised to find out that the eggs he had gathered had little treats inside.

He didn't care for the eggs that had other prizes inside
That next weekend we headed up to Idaho. Lance's sister has a nice spacious backyard, which Nixon loved having the freedom to run around, and he loved the cool swing set they had too.

He especially loved having 6 fun cousins to play with him.

Nixon's terrified face in this picture cracks me up! :)

This boy loves to swing

and he loves the slide

He also seems to enjoy being thrown high in the air by dad

One thing Lance was itching to do was take Nixon out on a bike ride.

I apparently didn't capture any smiling photos but don't let his facial expression fool you, he had a great time.

The Yearsley girls got this cool tightrope for Easter.
They made it look easier than it was. I thought little baby boy would help center me, but he did the opposite. :)

After our attempts at the tightrope, we took a nice drive up to this mountain to a cool look out point.

We had a couple of cute cousins (Madeline & Eliza) who wanted to join in on the fun.

That night we roasted some Marshmallows and some Peeps over the fire. Nixon was all to eager to help dad start the fire.

Lance's birthday fell on Easter Sunday this year and his wonderful sister made him a yummy german chocolate cake with peeps on top. (I think to incorporate Easter in the celebration)

Nixon's sweet cousins made him this home-made Easter basket filled with all sorts of cool things!

He also got a basket from mom and dad and enjoyed finding all the goodies and toy's in that basket.
It was a fun Easter weekend spent with the Yearsley's in Idaho!
